Originally focused on the motor enthusiast market, Enthusiast have broadened their offering to the “drive-less-spend-less” market niche. Its route to market is primarily direct via digital and call centre capabilities. Having scaled successfully over the past 3 years, the business is now looking to its next phase of growth.

Our underwriter, Assetinsure Holdings Pty Ltd is an authorised general insurer in the Australian market. Operating since 2004, Assetinsure is focused on delivering innovative insurance / finance solutions across a wide and growing number of insurance lines. Assetinsure primarily operates in Australia and New Zealand and is an important member of a global insurance network of specialty insurance providers which has a footprint across South Africa, the UK and Europe.

The key responsibilities will be…

  • Support the business in the provisioning of data and analytics to improve the day-to-day running of operations
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the performance of the business through regular reporting
  • Perform and/or lead in ad-hoc pieces of detailed data-driven analyses to achieve profitable growth through pricing
  • Recommend changes to current premium rates as required and assess the impact of pricing on key profit drivers and performance metrics
  • Implement pricing changes in a precise and timely manner
  • Contribute to our continuous improvement mindset in driving automation and process improvements throughout the business
  • Build and manage strong working relationships across all internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide input into market insights of the use of data and artificial intelligence within the insurance industry, locally in Australia and overseas
  • Develop and grow with the business.

The experience required is…

  • 2-5 years of actuarial experience in the general insurance industry with pricing experience desirable
  • Proven knowledge and application of actuarial and statistical pricing techniques
  • Tertiary level academic qualifications in actuarial
  • Experience in using programming languages such as (SAS/R/Python)
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to communicate technical concepts and outcomes in a simple way
  • Able to work independently
  • Understanding of accounting principles and insurance P&L preferable
